Claiming is open from today (9th) until the 13th of January (originally it was 8th-12th but due to RL getting in the way and us being a day late, we'll extend the time a day too to make up for it - sorry about missing the original date!).

Understand, these posts are here because we have never ever had a completely successful Snowpremacy.  There has always been one person who did not receive a gift fic, and that's always bothered us... badly. If you are struggling or have any questions, please let us know. OR, just let us know that everything is going well!

it's that time of the year again. Yes, the time of jingling balls, sparkly lights and Muse in compromising- wait, never mind.

It's time for another round of Snowpremacy!

New to Snowpremacy? No problem! This is Museslash's annual secret Santa exchange fic event. Basically, you send us your prompt, which will then be distributed to a random other participant. He or she will then surprise you with a fic made out of your prompt. In return, you too will receive the prompt of a participant who you'll gift with a fic of your own. 


Just like last year, we're gonna keep it simple: In the comments below, which will be SCREENED we will ask you to give us a holiday themed three word prompt.

Examples for this are: 

• Snow, first dance, glitter
• Lights, fireplace, cocoa

...etc, etc. Please, please, keep it to three words only. Three random words, not a three word sentence.

Please note that this also double serves as an inquiry post. If not enough people sign up, there's the possibility of the event being cancelled.

However, if you do sign up, you will be expected to complete your fic. There's been people that have participated in the past, who wrote their fic in good faith and never received one in return. We want to avoid this happening again, so only sign up if you are positive that you'll be able to take part. 

As time is tight with Christmas approaching and everything being super hectic for all of us, we want to give you a timetable to better plan ahead. Take note of the dates and keep them in mind when signing up/writing your fic.

• This post will be kept open until Sunday, the 10th December. 
• Prompt distribution will follow up until Tuesday, the 12th December latest. 
• This year, deadline for your fic will be some time mid January. While this is supposed to be a Christmas gift, we want everyone to be at ease and not stress over it, so to avoid clashes with Christmas and New Year's we give you time until the most stressful time of the year has blown over.

Today I'll ask you to reply to this post with what date you'd prefer to post your story on. We do this so not all stories get posted at the same time and also, to get a bit more structure in for both you and us :)

If more than one suits you, let us know! If none of them suits you, let us also know! We'll figure out a date for you then :)

- The 1st check-in post will be on the 10th December.

Please make sure to reply to these to let us know that you're still active and how you're coming along. I know it's annoying and a nuisance, but we've had people dropping out in the middle of the event without letting us know and their prompters were then left with no gift at all. We went to prevent this as good as possible.


- Sign up for a date to claim in the assigned post until the 15th December.

The date claim post will go up later this week. Take your time in claiming and decide depending on how well you progress with your fic and keep family gatherings in mind. If none of the suggested dates are applicable to you, please let us also know. We can find a solution :)


- You will receive your prompter's name on the 23rd December.

Naturally, we want to lift the big mystery of who your prompter was before you post :) And also, that way you can easily dedicate it to them.

This year I decided that we'll change things up a little bit for Christmas, since like with everything in my life right now, it's left to the last minute. The wonderful millionstar has made me a mod here so that I can organise this year's little event. Normally we have the big Christmas Fic Exchange but this year, I'm switching things up a bit! Hello everyone, we hope you had a wonderful Christmas time!

This year's Snowpremacy is nearly over, so we want to thank everyone for their participation. We hope you had as much fun as we did! All of your fics were wonderful and we enjoyed to read every single one of them.

There's still one fic that will be posted at a later date, but we're so happy to announce that, this year, everyone received (or will receive) their gift! Isn't that awesome? We surely are over the moon!

I have tagged all fics from 2012 and 2013 and added a navigation to the top of the page, so you can easily find this year's and last year's fics without going through the whole community. If I tagged something wrong or the navigation doesn't work for you, let me know.

This year went super smoothly for us mods and we want to thank you for that, as well. We know how stressful it is around Christmas time and you still managed to reply to every post we made and every PM we sent out. Seriously, thank you for that.

However, if you found anything that could be done better next year, don’t be afraid to tell us! We want to make this awesome for everyone, so if there’s something that you think should be changed, please let us know.

Since tomorrow is the eighteenth, and may already be the eighteenth for some of you, I wanted to remind everyone of the header that you should use when posting your stories. It is similar to the one we all use on MS, but please be sure to include both the prompt and the person you were writing for within your header. That way, everyone will be able to find their stories and prompts that they provided. As an example, your header, should look something like this:

I wanted to make a quick post just to be sure that you all are making progress with your writing, and that everything is going well. There is no need to reply to this post, unless you'd like to of course, but we just wanted to be sure that everyone is on the right track.

Today was the final day to request an extension on your posting date, but if something comes up between now and whatever date you have claimed, please let us know as soon as possible. We'd really appreciate that.
