Thank you all for making Snowpremacy 2016 a success. We appreciate your efforts during what is admittedly a busy time of year for us all. :)

I wanted to specifically thank [livejournal.com profile] mcsparklez for all of her work in assigning prompts and posting check-ins. Stef, in doing that, enabled me to participate in the fest itself - thanks, bro, for everything, seriously. Without her the fest would not have taken place. <3

All the best to you all for 2017.

Much Love

20 December 2016 @ 05:21 pm
Hello everyone.

Last check-in post today. Please make sure to reply and let us know how you're faring.

Also, as soon as you've replied you will get both your posting date and prompter name.

Make sure to reply until the 23rd December.

Thank you for all of your hard work during this busy time. We cannot wait to read all your fics :)
10 December 2016 @ 04:45 pm
Hello, guys!

Me again :D This is the first check-in post that you need to reply to. We don't want to know much from you, just that you're still around and working on your fic. You can, of course, tell us how you're faring and if you've got troubles we're gonna help you out!

Please reply until the 15th December.

Thanks for all of your hard work! Have a wonderful third advent :)
07 December 2016 @ 10:19 am
Hello everyone, we hope you're doing well and that your stories come along fine :)

Today I'll ask you to reply to this post with what date you'd prefer to post your story on. We do this so not all stories get posted at the same time and also, to get a bit more structure in for both you and us :)

We've decided to narrow it down to three possible dates, so let us know which of these would suit you best:

Saturday, 24th December

Sunday, 25th December

Monday, 26th December

If more than one suits you, let us know! If none of them suits you, let us also know! We'll figure out a date for you then :)

Please let us know until the 17th December.

Have a good rest of the week!
02 December 2016 @ 06:36 am
If you have not yet checked in on THIS post, please remember to do so. As Stef said:

Please let us know that you've read all of these and give us a quick reply to this post. Also, if you have any questions feel free to ask :)
We are not trying to be a nuisance, we are just trying to make sure everyone understands the schedule for the fest. As we alluded, in the past people have been left with no fic at all and we're trying our damndest to ensure that doesn't happen again this year. Take care!
27 November 2016 @ 02:19 pm
Hello everyone, hope you had a good week!

Here's the timetable for all important posts concerning the event :)

- The 1st check-in post will be on the 10th December.

- The 2nd check-in post will be on the 20th December.

Please make sure to reply to these to let us know that you're still active and how you're coming along. I know it's annoying and a nuisance, but we've had people dropping out in the middle of the event without letting us know and their prompters were then left with no gift at all. We went to prevent this as good as possible.

- Sign up for a date to claim in the assigned post until the 15th December.

The date claim post will go up later this week. Take your time in claiming and decide depending on how well you progress with your fic and keep family gatherings in mind. If none of the suggested dates are applicable to you, please let us also know. We can find a solution :)

- You will receive your prompter's name on the 23rd December.

Naturally, we want to lift the big mystery of who your prompter was before you post :) And also, that way you can easily dedicate it to them.

Please let us know that you've read all of these and give us a quick reply to this post. Also, if you have any questions feel free to ask :)

Have a great 1st advent, everyone!
23 November 2016 @ 07:25 pm
Hello everyone!

Prompts have been sent out a couple of minutes ago. You should have a message in your inbox! If not, let me know asap (PM or on this post - comments are screened as always).

Thanks :)
20 November 2016 @ 12:49 pm
Hello hello hello,

thank you for joining in on this year's Snowpremacy! Sign ups are now closed and you will receive your prompt shortly.

I'll be your captain for the rest of the ride, so if you've got any questions feel free to PM me, poke me on Twitter (NoOneWillRecall, if you don't have me there) or reply to this post - comments will be screened and I'll contact you then. Furthermore, if you've signed up but realised that you can't take part anymore for whatever reason, please let me know in the next couple of days.

That's all for now, further details like the date-claim for your fic will follow closer to the event.

Have a wonderful Sunday, people! :)

Hi hi hi!
Okay here is the sign up post for Snowpremacy 2016. We are excited that there was enough interest to have the fest this year, and we look forward to seeing what kinds of fic it produces!
For the fic exchange this year we are gonna keep it simple. In the comments below, which will be SCREENED we will ask you to give us a holiday themed three word prompt.  Such as...
Snow, first dance, glitter
Lights, fireplace, cocoa
....etc, etc. Please, please, keep it to three words only. Three random words, not a three word sentence.
Your fic can be as long as you wish.
If you sign up for Snowpremacy, you will be expected to complete your fic. This is not me being a bitch, this is me reacting to the fact that people have participated in this fest in the past, wrote their gift fic in good faith and not received one in return. It was awful & it just leads to hurt feelings and it's not worth that, this is supposed to be fun.
This post will be kept open for one week, until Saturday, November 19th, and then we will assign prompts.  You will have your assigned prompt by December 1, if not earlier.  Fics should be posted by December 25th, since it's a holiday gift, after all! If you encounter trouble message us (myself or [livejournal.com profile] mcsparklez) and we'll talk about an extension to perhaps the 31st.

Much thanks, [livejournal.com profile] millionstar.
04 November 2016 @ 08:14 am

Just me, putting feelers out to see how many people wanted to participate in [livejournal.com profile] snowpremacy this year.  Snowpremacy is the Museslash secret santa fic exchange, for those of you who are new. :)

Not sure if we will have enough interest to do it this year, so I am asking for your input.  Comments are screened for anyone who wants their involvement to be a surprise.

Thank you. :)))))
25 December 2015 @ 11:24 pm
Merry Christmas everyone!

You should now have received your prompts – let me know if you haven't. I've been asked about how everyone is to go about posting their fic here, so I thought I'd just do this post to let you know how.

Posting is not dissimilar to how you post to Museslash, so when you post, use these headings:

Author's Note:

Also use the tag 'snowpremacy 2015' when posting.

Now, I initially said that fics should be posted before 31 December, but if you need more time it isn't a problem. This is meant to be fun, after all. So enjoy yourselves, and have a brilliant Christmas, wherever you are! <3333
20 December 2015 @ 10:47 am
Welcome friends to that glorious time of year! The time where we write fics! ...Which is all the time, but you know. Moving on.

This year I decided that we'll change things up a little bit for Christmas, since like with everything in my life right now, it's left to the last minute. The wonderful [livejournal.com profile] millionstar has made me a mod here so that I can organise this year's little event. Normally we have the big Christmas Fic Exchange but this year, I'm switching things up a bit! (Is it because this is so last minute? Yes. Yes it is.) This year it's short and snappy, but hopefully no less fun. Yes that's right, it's time for:

Click here, my lovelies, for all the glorious details. )

TL;DR: Leave 3 word/phrase Christmas-themed prompts on this post before Tuesday AEST. They will be assigned on the Tuesday. Write a fic using the entire prompt. Posting will be from 24 December to 31 December.

Look, if you didn't read the post, please do. There are rules. And I don't think I wrote that much... I did, didn't I? Sorry guys :S

(P.S. I ate an entire packet of Strawberry Sour Straps. My life is a downward spiral. I am very loopy.)
27 December 2013 @ 12:51 pm
Hello everyone, we hope you had a wonderful Christmas time!

This year's Snowpremacy is nearly over, so we want to thank everyone for their participation. We hope you had as much fun as we did! All of your fics were wonderful and we enjoyed to read every single one of them.

There's still one fic that will be posted at a later date, but we're so happy to announce that, this year, everyone received (or will receive) their gift! Isn't that awesome? We surely are over the moon!

I have tagged all fics from 2012 and 2013 and added a navigation to the top of the page, so you can easily find this year's and last year's fics without going through the whole community. If I tagged something wrong or the navigation doesn't work for you, let me know.

This year went super smoothly for us mods and we want to thank you for that, as well. We know how stressful it is around Christmas time and you still managed to reply to every post we made and every PM we sent out. Seriously, thank you for that.

However, if you found anything that could be done better next year, don’t be afraid to tell us! We want to make this awesome for everyone, so if there’s something that you think should be changed, please let us know.

Once again, thank you, everyone. You made Snowpremacy this amazing and we hope you will be participating again next year.

Have a happy New Year and see you all (hopefully) for Snowpremacy 2014!

Your mods, [livejournal.com profile] millionstar, [livejournal.com profile] theyellow_daisy and [livejournal.com profile] whiteapricot
17 December 2013 @ 08:31 pm
You all should have received a pm from [livejournal.com profile] whiteapricot in your boxes this afternoon telling you who you were writing for. If you did NOT get this message please let her know and she will figure that out ASAP.

Since tomorrow is the eighteenth, and may already be the eighteenth for some of you, I wanted to remind everyone of the header that you should use when posting your stories. It is similar to the one we all use on MS, but please be sure to include both the prompt and the person you were writing for within your header. That way, everyone will be able to find their stories and prompts that they provided. As an example, your header, should look something like this:

Simple enough I think. Stef and I just wanted to be sure that there would be no questions, and posting can begin as smoothly as possible. If you have any questions don't be afraid to let the [livejournal.com profile] whiteapricot or myself know. Otherwise, let the fun begin!!
15 December 2013 @ 09:27 pm
Hello everyone!

I wanted to make a quick post just to be sure that you all are making progress with your writing, and that everything is going well. There is no need to reply to this post, unless you'd like to of course, but we just wanted to be sure that everyone is on the right track.

Please be sure to contact one of the mods if you have any questions at all. We're here to help! Today was the final day to request an extension on your posting date, but if something comes up between now and whatever date you have claimed, please let us know as soon as possible. We'd really appreciate that.

Posting will begin in three days, and I hope you're all as excited as I am. We have two wonderful stories to look forward to on the 18th, so please stay tuned! Maybe it will be one of your stories.

Thank you again for participating in this years Snowpremacy event. I can't wait to get started. Let us know if you have any questions or concerns with your writing as you go along. Happy holidays, happy writing, and good luck!
03 December 2013 @ 10:35 pm
Hello everyone! I hope everything is going well with your stories, and that you are looking forward to posting and sharing, as much as I am. As the mods would like to have all the stories posted by Christmas, it's time to really get things rolling again! As D mentioned in a previous post, this year we are going to try something different in terms of posting fics, and we'll see how it goes. However, we think it'll work out nicely. PLEASE take the time to read ALL the information provided in this post, because we really are trying to keep this as stress-free as possible since we're all getting busy now.

Instead of a "free-for-all" posting this year, we will be having sign-up dates for each person to post their story, and reveal themselves to the person that they are writing for. It is our hope that in assigning dates that it will serve as a way to keep everyone on track since they have a posting date to work toward. It's always nice to have a stress-free deadline. Posting will begin on December 18th and end on December 25th. On each date, we will allow THREE stories to be posted. That way there is a nice ammount of stories on each day, and the comm won't be flooded with your wonderful stories!
Here's what you have to do:
Find a posting date that works best for you, and reply to the comment claiming that date. Like I said, there will be a maximum of three stories/people per date, and once a date is filled, it will no longer be available. Please try to check the comments before claiming your date, as we would like to try and not have to re-assign and move people around to different dates.Once a date has the maximum number of writers, it will be added to the "filled" list below.  If you find that you can not post on the date that you have claimed, you must let one of the mods know by December 15th, and you will be given an extention. Please keep in mind, that extensions will not be given if the posting date you want is filled. With a maximum of three people per date, we hope that everyone will be able to find a day that works for them.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact myself or one of your fellow mods. I had so much fun helping out with this community last year, and can not wait to read more wonderful holiday stories! Good luck and happy holidays!!

Filled Dates:

15 November 2013 @ 05:21 pm
You have 5 days left to reply to the check-in post to let us know that you are or will be working on your prompt.

Remember, if you don't reply, we'll assume you are unable to fill your prompt and you will be removed from this year's Snowpremacy.

For the check-in post, clicky here.

Important: Even if you have contacted [livejournal.com profile] theyellow_daisy, [livejournal.com profile] millionstar or me via PM before, you must reply to the check-in post.
05 November 2013 @ 06:04 pm
Hello hello!

To make sure that everyone will get their gift and that writers are not struggling with their given prompt, we have decided to do a quick check-in post.

Please reply to this entry (all comments are screened) and confirm that you have received your prompt and that you are working or will be working on it. If you have questions or problems with your given prompt, post here as well, we will try to help you as quickly as possible.

You have until Wednesday, Nov 20th to do so. If you fail to notify us we will assume that you won't be able to participate this year and your prompt will go to someone else.

Have a great week!
27 October 2013 @ 12:52 am

Hello everyone!

Are you excited yet? I surely am!

All prompts have been assigned and sent out. If, by any chance, the Grinch stole your prompt or you didn't get a PM here on LJ please let me know, so I can send it to you again.

For now, we will keep it secret who you're writing for. You will find out shortly before posting starts, so then you can properly dedicate the fic to your prompter :)

Good luck writing and have a great Muse-y Christmas time!

Your hard-working Elf out.

22 October 2013 @ 06:46 pm
Thank you to everyone who submitted a prompt & chose to participate this year. :)    You will receive your assigned prompt from [livejournal.com profile] whiteapricot via PM here on LJ sometime in the next few days, so keep an eye out for it.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact your mods.  Thank you to [livejournal.com profile] theyellow_daisy for making the prompt post while I was away.

I was surprised and thrilled when [livejournal.com profile] easilyerased made this profile participation banner for us to use this year!  Thank you, N, so much!  Feel free to snag it and put it in your LJ profile if you are so inclined!

We will present you with a schedule/due date of fics sometime in the next couple of weeks.  Until then, thank you again, and see you soon!
